You can't spell Musah without USA. That's what many fans of the team and the player are saying across the world after the New York born midfielder fully committed to playing for the United States. Musah, currently playing at Valencia in Spain has become a big part of Valencia's future and to most USMNT fans would be an insturmental part of a very young midfield with the likes of Weston McKennie of Juventus (Italy) and Tyler Adams of RB Leipzig (Germany). The pacey midfielder hold duel nationality and was eligible to play for Ghana, Italy, England and the United States. This is a huge win for the team adding a very talented 18 year old to a roster filled with stars below the age of 25. Musah, at 18, has already made 27 appearances for Valencia with 3 goals across all competitions. While the decision today comes as no surprise to most soccer experts since he played for the US in two friendlies in November, a 0-0 draw vs Wales and a 6-2 hammering of Panama, this pickup would not have been on anyone's radar just 12-18 months ago. Musah had already played for England at the U-15, 16, 17, and 18 level and spent his academy years playing for Arsenal in London.
Will this decision by Musah lead to other players who have yet to decide who they'll represent in competitive matches choosing the Red, White and Blue? we surely hope so, I've got my eyes on you Florian Balogun.
